“Hey, I put some new shoes on…”

Standard

My studio is still in the midst of the mess. I’m glad that it will a better work/play/create place when it is complete, Howsomever! I have struggled without the familiar friends of paint and easels within my reach. So, I’ve continued to look for small expressions of creativity that can be accomplished in the midst of the chaos, kid’s homework, games, laundry and dinners that is our table at the moment. I decided to make myself some new shoes…fun without too much hassle. The next pictures show some of the process. Now family and friends would like a pair of their own!

kitchen table studio (stuck with the pens because the sticks were too loose for precise work on the awkward areas).

The moral of the story is:  don’t let your creative heart grow cold in the midst of change, transition or even loss. Do something, however small, to keep the embers warm. Be encouraged!
